Groups for all ages and stages
All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
His Spirit is with us always, and he has not abandoned us.
Therefore, we echo Paul in the one thing we do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, we press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Press on with us. Join a group.

Motherhood is hard. In a world of five-step lists and silver-bullet solutions to become perfect parents, mothers are burdened with mixed messages about who they are and what choices they should make. If you feel pulled between high-fives and hard words, with culture’s solutions only raising more questions, you’re not alone. 8-9:15 pm on Tuesdays from January 12 – March 16 by webinar

Wednesdays: American Heritage Girls
Wednesday nights from 6-7 pm
American Heritage Girls (AHG) is the premier national character development organization for young women that embraces Christian values and encourages family involvement. All biological girls of any color, creed, race, national origin and socioeconomic status who agree to live according to the standards of the AHG Oath and the AHG Creed are invited to be members of American Heritage Girls Troop VA0735 right here at FBC on Wednesday nights between 6-7 pm.
It’s an all-girl structure + outdoor adventure!
Our program emphasizes six key components to achieve the mission of building women of integrity known as the AHG Program Emphases which includes programming, experiences, and resources geared for girls. Girls who complete the program will be Christ-following servant leaders who are honoring, relational, anchored in Christ, and competent.
Wednesdays: Trail Life for Boys
Wednesday nights from 6-7 PM
Trail Life USA is a Church-Based, Christ-Centered, Boy-Focused mentoring and discipleship journey that speaks to the heart of a boy. Established on timeless values derived from the Bible and set in the context of outdoor adventure, boys from Kindergarten through 6th grade are engaged in a Troop setting by male mentors where they are challenged to grow in character, understand their purpose, serve their community, and develop practical leadership skills to carry out the mission for which they were created. Our Troop VA0725 meets Wednesday Nights from 6-7 pm.
Too many boys are turning to virtual worlds of television, video games, digital media, and the internet to find realms they can conquer and areas where they can excel. The result of this virtual conquest is often apathy, apparent rebellion, or outright resistance to real-world challenge.
Trail Life USA is an environment where boys thrive! Adults are equipped to lead a program in a structured outdoor environment where boys are engaged in real-world challenge and experience camping, hiking, and fishing; they develop skills in in riflery, archery, and canoeing; and learn character and leadership in a practical hands-on manner that is naturally engaging.
In the outdoors, the experience of adults is never obsolete, boys find mentors, fathers and sons connect, important relationships are fostered, and boys find opportunity to achieve significant accomplishment.
Wednesdays: Mission Friends for Preschoolers
Wednesday nights from 6-7 PM
At FBC, we know one one encourages others like kids do. So we encourage kids with lots of fun & games & crafts for a purpose: Preschoolers will learn about missionaries, pastors, and servants of the church…and we then write notes, cards, and drawings to encourage those serving in ministry through those offices.
Virtual: AWANA
AWANA has three groups meeting VIRTUALLY for 2020-2021:
- Cubbies for children who are 3 and 4 years old (3 by 30 September)
- Sparks who are in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade
- T&T (Truth & Training) for children in 3rd through 6th grade
Parents can expect children to have fun memorizing God’s Word and learning the truth of the Gospel. Children get the most out of AWANA when they work on their verses with their parents at home during the week! In AWANA, we seek to walk along side parents to assist in discipling their children! Our FBC leaders are background checked adults with teen helpers (Leaders in Training)
To help our club operate, we ask for a donation of $25 per child (no more than $75 per family) for the entire academic year (September through May). This is truly a donation — please don’t let this prevent you from coming to AWANA. Just click the “request a scholarship” button in the registration form.
