The Great Mandate

The Great Mandate

24 hours before this worship service, hate came to town. White supremacists came from out of town to Charlottesville, and hate begat hate. Violence begat violence, and lives were lost. What does the church have to say at times like these?

6 months ago, the Holy Spirit gave Pastor Rob the idea to preach through the “One Another” passages of the New Testament, and after months of planning the series started today. What FBC had to say was a crystal clear proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, repudiating hate and violence, standing for the equality of all people as made in the image and likeness of God. Expecting hate from a lost world, and proclaiming Jesus Christ as the only way, truth, and life.

This is the message in word, in song, and in prayer. Don’t just watch it: sing as we sing, pray as we pray, be transformed as we were by the Holy Spirit. Join us for “The Great Mandate” and trust the Lord who knew what would happen, and put us here for such a time as this…
