Topic: Faith, Trouble
The apostle James, brother of Jesus states boldly that faith without works is dead. Dead. Not living. In today’s culture, we don’t need a dead faith, we need one that is active, vibrant, thriving, muscular. A faith that works. That’s what this series is about. it’s about getting in there and working with a very alive, very present God who does not send us on mission with something dead, but something very alive…like he is.
This is the first message in the series, and immediately we see that the faith James is talking about is faith that is under trial. Whether we like it or not, in this world we will have trouble, and yet James asks us to count it all…joy. Joy. Not something we think about when facing trouble. So listen to the word of the Lord spoken through James and his life and his trials, and see how the Lord is good through every trial.
