Faith Alone, Not Lonely Faith

Faith Alone, Not Lonely Faith

Sola Scriptura! Sola fide! Sola gratia! Solus Christus! Soli Deo gloria! These are the five Solas of the Reformation, and a summation of the doctrines of Protestantism. The second on this list can be translated “faith alone.” It is our faith alone, not our human works, that bring about salvation. (Kind of important to note in a series called “Faith that Works.”) This faith is not lonely, but rather meant to be lived out in community! What does this faith look like? Is it alive? Is it seen? is it useful? These are the questions that James, brother of Jesus, answers in chapter 2 of his letter. Listen, sing, pray and praise alongside the family of Christ at First Baptist Park Street.
