We are an Acts 1:8 Church.
“…you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
Acts 1:8 missions means that we engage in Holy Spirit powered work in our
Jerusalem (Charlottesville Metro Area),
Judea and Samaria (the U.S.),
and the ends of the earth (beyond our borders).
This began with Lottie Moon in the 1800’s and we’re still doing it today.

Missions are as broad and deep as your imagination will allow it to be. The World is huge! The need is Great! Our God is Awesome. He has chosen to use people to tell others of His love, His plan and His glory. He has a place for YOU and will use you if you will let Him! (93 year-old FBC member on mission.)
I stepped WAY out of my comfort zone when I stepped off the plane on foreign mission for the first time. I cried every day I was there, but I also laughed and worshipped and prayed more than I thought possible! The experience changed my life forever. (An FBC Member on mission.)
My first Mission Trip…was an eye-opening experience. It doesn’t take any special skills to share Jesus Love with others……anyone can be a missionary! (Another FBC member on mission.)
Charlottesville Metro Area Missions
We love this place! For over 189 years we’ve been rooted in this area and striving to see it transformed by Christ. Here are some of the ways we reach out to show God’s love to this area:
Vacation Bible School
What is VBS? It’s Vacation Bible School! VBS is our major Summer outreach, where we reach out to the entire community just like FBC member Virginia Sinclair Hawes did when she started the VBS movement in New York City in the late 1800’s.
VBS 2022: July 11- 15 (Registration opens May 2, 2021) There’s lots of info about VBS 2022 at our dedicated VBS page. Click the button below to let us know you are interested in reaching kids and families in this region through VBS:
Bike Nights with FAITH Riders
FBC Park Street is passionate about pointing generations to Jesus…bikers included! If you ride or just love those who do, join us as we point bikers to Jesus as an official chapter of FAITH Riders Motorcycle Ministry.
Every month we gather at Mission BBQ for a bike night. Bikes & BBQ…what could be better?
U.S. Missions
This is a big, varied country in every way. And Christ loves it enough to die for it’s redemption. Our task is to go share his good news.
FAITH Riders Daytona and Sturgis
Whether you ride a motorcycle or not, you have a testimony. Utilizing your own personal testimony of how Christ has changed your life, on these trips we share the Gospel with those who stop at the FAITH Riders tent during Bike Week at both Daytona Beach, Florida and Sturgis, South Dakota. We will provide training in how to share your testimony in three minutes. An interest meeting is will be held in mid-December, followed by Three-Minute-Testimony training in January.
Want to get notified when the interest meeting is approaching? Fill this out and indicate which trip you are interested in:

Southwest Virginia
Working with the SWVA Partnership, this trip is a construction trip…with a purpose. We prepare our teams to share the Gospel in our actions and with our words as well. It is open for everyone, including families who want to experience local missions before any international trips. It’s about $15 a night (plus food) per person.

Missions to the Ends of the Earth
We believe in intentionally investing lots of time, resources, and people into specific areas of the world. We’ve sent a family to Southeast Asia and supported them for two decades. We’ve sent a missionary all around the world with the Jesus Film Project for over a decade. We’ve been investing in Guatemala for years sending youth and adults, and have a family on the mission field there.
Guatemala
Working in concert with local missionaries Tim and Cathleen Pfeuffer and Mitch and Amanda Munoz, we typically take two trips each year to a series of villages in Guatemala surrounding the town of Los Chilitos. The ministry done on these trips range from a VBS, Evangelism, Construction, Discipleship, Etc. We’ve made a long term partnership in these areas and go back over and over, forming relationships that bear fruit for Jesus Christ.
Our primary trip is in the Summer. Total cost for the trip is about $1,600 plus shots, visa, and up-to-date passport.
