Soup Kitchen at FBC

“‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me; I was in prison and you visited me.’“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and take you in, or without clothes and clothe you?  When did we see you sick, or in prison, and visit you?’ “And the King will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

Following Christ means listening and acting on what Christ says. There are hungry, thirsty people in our community, people who need clothes, personal hygiene items, a warm (or cool!) place to sit and eat, and people to talk to. Each week at our soup kitchen, we provide that for 50-65 guests from the community.

You can too.

Each Friday from 12:30 – 1:30 in our fellowship hall, our soup kitchen serves FBC member-made entrees, soups, salads, and casseroles to those who need food. We’ve got 10 great teams who serve on a rotation (once every 10 weeks!) who cook, prep tables, slice desserts, make salads, hand out plates/utensils/cups, serve food and clean up. We’re always ready & willing to add people to existing teams and train them in what to do. Just fill out the form below!
