Everyday Theology - Bible Study
Theology is the study of God, what He has done, is doing, and will do in the world.
And it’s not just for those with formal education or those who work at your church. It’s for you in your everyday moments, questions, and decisions. It’s for the big and little, the exciting and mundane. Our theology is the basis of our faith and touches every part of our existence.
In this 8-session study, explore the essential doctrines of Scripture, God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, humanity, salvation, the church, and the end times to know God more deeply through these foundational truths.
Led by Michelle Cox, this study meets Sunday nights from 6-7:30 pm. There is no childcare, grades 7-12 can attend Park Street students, and beginning in October AWANA resumes for younger kids.
Precept-upon-Precept: Book of Romans
Are We free from sin indeed?
All have sinned. There is none righteous. We are declared righteous by God only by faith in the blood of His Son. Romans 1-5 explains the foundational doctrines of our faith – original sin, justification, redemption, and propitiation. Gain an excellent grasp of the doctrine of salvation through this time-tested Precept methodology.
Led by Joan Smith on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 – 11:30 am via Zoom. There is no childcare.
Revive Our Hearts: The Right Kind of Strong
What does it mean to be a “strong” woman?
How do biblical and contemporary views differ? Delving into the second letter to Timothy, Kassian explores Paul’s exhortation to the women in the Ephesian church to help you avoid seven pitfalls that can weaken you. Discover how to become the resilient, capable woman God created you to be!
Led by Rachel Mitchell, this study goes from 6-7:15 on Wednesday evenings. Childcare is available, and pre-K through 6th graders can sign up for Trail Life/American Heritage Girls. Grades 7-12 can attend Park Street Students.
W.O.W.: Women Of the Word
Therefore, I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:1-2)
Scripture is God’s authoritative means of instructing us in His ways and it reveals His holy pattern for our womanhood, our character, our priorities, and our various roles, responsibilities, and relationships. In addition to that, it is the very words of God. It’s wonderful to hear from Him!
In Women Of the Word (WOW), we:
Seek to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
Gladly yield control of our lives to Christ as Lord– we will say “yes, Lord” to the Word and the will of God.
Be women of the Word, seeking to grow in our knowledge of Scripture and to live in accord with sound doctrine in every area of our lives.
Nurture our fellowship and communion with God through prayer–in praise, thanksgiving, confession, intercession, and supplication.
We have different short-term WOW groups. We’ll link the new studies as they become available, or…
