Pathway Volunteers

Shadow a Buddy

Because everyone needs a gospel path

God’s heart is for all people, regardless of their circumstances, needs, or abilities. Our goal is for Pathway Special Needs Community at FBC to be a path for those with special needs or disabilities as well as their families to learn about God’s love for them and come to a true relationship with him through Jesus Christ.

In our ministry, we use the buddy system to work with children with disabilities.  A trained member of the church volunteers to work one on one with each child in his Sunday School class to make sure his needs are being met and he is learning about Christ at his individual level. Additionally, youth and adults who come into our ministry are given a buddy (if needed) or given additional support that allows them to worship with us.

Giving emotional, physical, and spiritual support to the individual with disabilities and his/her family

Making the good news of Jesus Christ accessible to all individuals

Granting individuals with disabilities as well as their families the opportunity to fully participate in the body of Christ as disciples

To be part of our community, we ask that you complete an intake form for children or youth prior to visiting (if possible) so that we can have trained volunteers ready to work with your child.

Each volunteer is background checked and trained prior to working with any individual with disabilities.
